Hive Smashers

To get the maximum fun out of Hive Smashers, it’s best that you “seed” the Action Card Deck so things are distributed properly. While it’s certainly not necessary, it will definitely move the game along quicker. See instructions below:

Strategy #1:

Don’t always hog your “Smash” card waiting to use it on your opponent’s queen. Consider blocking an opponent’s tunnel for good as well. Remember, once a “Smash” card is placed on a hive, that tunnel can never be repaired!

Strategy #2:

If you don’t like your hand, placing a “Swap Hands” card on an opponent’s tunnel can not only protect against an opponent getting to your queen, but it can also potentially get you better cards (from your opponent’s hand) if they are desperate to re-complete their tunnel.

Strategy #3:

While you continue to tunnel into your opponent’s hive so you can smash their queen and win, keep in mind that you should also try and strengthen your own hive by surrounding your own queen with high numbers of your own clan. Because even if all the smash cards are used before a queen is taken, the player with the highest number of their own warrior cards on their own hive wins.

We’ve put together a few questions to help gameplay:

1. What if I have two "Kill Cards" in my hand?

Immediately discard an extra "Kill Card" and pull a new card. Sure, your opponent saw it, so now they should plan accordingly now that you're one step closer to winning.

2. I want to throw down a protective spell NOT on my hand, do I wait to pull another card when it's my turn?

Nope. Pull one immediately. Whenever you have three cards, instantly pull a new card.

3. When I use the "Mirror Master" card on an opponent, do they wait until their turn to pick up a new card? (to replace the one I stole from them)

Nope. They pick one up immediately. And you put the "Mirror Master" down on the discard pile. So you have four cards, and your opponent has four cards.

Basically, every time  you put down a card, pick up a card, this will help you in case you just woke up the "Cotter and Wife" AND "The Elder Gods". You need all the help you can get!
